The Skye and Lochalsh Beekeepers Association is an association to promote all aspects of beekeeping in the Skye and Lochalsh area.

We are an active group of over 50 members, with a regular schedule of apiary visits to members and further afield during the summer months. Membership of the association brings benefits by way of knowledge sharing for members, with an extensive library of books and magazines for reference and visiting lecturers. Members also benefit from equipment owned by the association, including honey extractors and a heather press.

Whilst our weather often means that we do not have large honey crops, the geographic isolation of the area means that our bees are largely disease free, and varroa does not have a hold in our area.

An aim of our association therefore is to seek to supply beekeepers coming into our area, and new beekeepers, with local disease-free bees. If you are a beekeeper moving into our area, please do contact us to discuss.
